12 funding calls

We identified and shared with the network of GAC members 12 funding proposals available in the multilateral and European cooperation ecosystem.

 

7 Mentoring and review of proposals

We also carried out the mentoring process and quality review of 7 initiatives and funding proposals from the following organizations:


  • CIPPEC (Argentina) / VI Annual Call for the Co-Organization of Events on Relevant Topics of the Bi-regional Alliance between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean. EU - LAC

NEW INSTITUTIONAL ALLIANCES WITH THE ANDEAN REGION THINK TANKS


We held working meetings with Estefanía Teran Valdez, Executive Director of Grupo Faro Ecuador, and Camilla Ulloa Torres, coordinator responsible for the area of democracy, transparency and active citizenship.


We approved the signing of a framework cooperation agreement between the CAGG and Grupo Faro, a key player in the generation of knowledge and innovative practices for social transformation in Ecuador and Latin America.


 

We also held working meetings to explore institutional synergies with Natalia González, Director General of the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos, a think tank specializing in socioeconomic policies in the Andean region with 60 years of recognized experience in Peru.


 

NETWORKING AND COLLABORATION WITH THE CAGG THINK TANKS NETWORK

In the framework of the conference "Incubators of the Circular Economy" organized by Impact Hub Geneva, we held a working meeting with Kaly Taylor, sustainable projects coordinator of Building Bridges, and Matías Kelly, member of the Argentine node of LATIMPACTO.


LATIMPACTO is a Latin American social investment network that brings together actors from all over the world who invest monetary and human resources with the purpose of maximizing the socio-environmental impact in the region.


 

We held an institutional working meeting with Vander Finotti, Senior Institutional Development Analyst at Vetor Brazil.


We were analyzing the terms of reference of two calls for funding in prefectures of four Brazilian states sponsored by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the German Agency for International Development Cooperation (GIZ).


 

EU LAC KNOWLEDGE FORUM IN MONTEVIDEO

Sponsored by the EU-LAC International Foundation together with the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the hybrid working sessions were held on April 24 and 25.


Gonzalo Diéguez, executive director of CAGG, participated in the working group "Cooperation in S&T + Innovation" together with leading experts and government officials from the region.


In the following link you can find out the conclusions, guidelines and policy proposals that were worked around the following axes:


  1. Cooperation in S&T + Innovation.

  2. Higher education

  3. Closing gaps in access, equity, quality and capabilities.


The working methodology of these meetings between policy makers, specialists and CSOs promotes the joint and participatory elaboration of public policy documents that include recommendations and proposals based on evidence


Also developing technical inputs for consultation and reference in the field of bi-regional cooperation.


These policy recommendation documents will be presented at the next Summit of Heads of State and Government CELAC-EU in July 2023.
